I've read the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Frankly I think this is Jhumpa Lahiri's better book. I wasn’t honestly all that impressed with “The Interpreter of Maladies”. It's a good book…It's not great and I've read other Pulitzer winning books…umm..It's not really up to their mark. I don't recall most of the stories today, which is a sign that it didn’t leave a lasting impression. Some of the stories were good, poignant maybe, but outstanding, no. But “The Namesake” shows a clear transition- she's a much more confident author, her style is lucid and overall it’s a great great book. If you haven't read it, I suggest you do!
